Bread, viennoiserie and patisserie worth crossing London for. Nothing here is paid for.
The original Konditor, still on the Waterloo side street where it started.
Gerhard Jenne took on a small bakery on Cornwall Road in 1993 and this is still that shop, a few minutes behind the station and largely indifferent to it. Half seven to seven on weekdays, which makes it one of the few places near Waterloo where cake is a plausible thing to buy on the way home. Two minutes from Waterloo East. Not a bread proposition — the draw is the iced squares and the brownies.
