Bakeries

Bread, viennoiserie and patisserie worth crossing London for. Nothing here is paid for.

Fortitude Bakehouse

A cobbled back-alley bakery most people walk past the end of.

Colonnade is a short cobbled cut-through behind Russell Square and Fortitude have been quietly baking at the end of it for years: sourdough, cardamom buns, morning buns, a few loaf cakes. A minute from the station and still somehow easy to miss. It shuts in the early afternoon and does not open on Sundays.
