About.
A tailored guide to the best of London.
London has more places to go and things to do than anyone can keep track of. That abundance is part of its appeal — and part of the problem. On any given day, thousands of places, events and experiences are within reach, yet it can be surprisingly difficult to know which are genuinely worth the journey.
Features
- Comprehensive listings, easy filtering. Everyone has different interests, and different moods on different days. The filters get you to the right thing quickly: free, open now, near you, or by category.
- A beautiful, uncluttered map. A joyous, visual way to see what is around a neighbourhood, or around you right now.
- Curate your saved list. Mark a place or activity Want to go, Done or Loved and keep track of everything and get better suggestions. Press Not interested and it disappears from your lists and maps.
- Long reads. Beautifully written, intellectually curious five-to-ten-minute essays that unlock the history behind London’s places. Don’t just see London — understand it.
Food & Drink principles
- Curated, not comprehensive. We include only places and experiences that meet a deliberately high standard — not everything London has to offer.
- Every listing must earn its place. There should be a clear, specific reason why it is exceptional and worth recommending.
- Selected, never sponsored. Nobody can buy inclusion, higher placement, favourable coverage or a find.london endorsement.
- We champion independents and the overlooked. We make a particular effort to discover independent businesses and new openings, which often lack the visibility of chains. They still have to meet the same quality bar as everyone else.
- Every location is assessed independently. A strong brand does not automatically qualify every branch, and a small chain is not excluded simply because it has grown.
- Popularity is not the same as quality. Public ratings and social-media attention can be useful signals, but they do not determine our recommendations.
- Inclusion is not permanent. Listings may be revised or removed when ownership, standards or the experience changes.
- Practical information should be dependable. We check opening hours, addresses, closures and other details against reliable sources, and show when they were last verified wherever possible.
- Community-informed, editor-approved. Suggestions and corrections are welcome, but nothing is published automatically.
What we’re building
Curation comes first. Over time, we want to build on it in three ways:
- A better kind of review. Online reviews are vulnerable to manipulation. We want to create a system based on verified visits, thoughtful feedback and information that helps people make better choices.
- Recommendations that become more personal. With your permission, find.london will learn from what you save, visit and tell us you enjoy. Someone interested in Japanese food and culture, for example, might hear about a new sake bar, ceramics exhibition or film season. The aim is a personalised digest that is really worth opening.
- An experience that works for Londoners and visitors. Londoners may want exceptional openings near home and worthwhile things happening this week; visitors may need a tightly edited itinerary or the best options near where they are staying. The quality bar remains the same, while the experience adapts to what each person needs.
Got some feedback, know somewhere exceptional or have an idea for the site? We’d love to hear from you: there is a form for suggesting a place or correcting a listing, or write to hi@find.london.
