White Cube Mason's Yard

The St James's White Cube, a freestanding box of galleries in a courtyard off Duke Street.

Commercial galleryFree

Built from scratch in 2006 on the site of an electricity substation, a sharp-edged block that reads as a sculpture itself among the Georgian brick of Mason's Yard. Two floors, one above ground and one below, that have shown Gilbert & George, Damien Hirst and Julie Mehretu; the Bermondsey space took over the biggest shows and this one kept the tighter, single-room exhibitions.
