One screen, and the reason to come is its size: nothing else in the country is as big, and the auditorium is built so that the picture fills the whole of your vision rather than sitting in front of you. The programme is the blockbusters released in the format, alongside documentary and educational presentations made for it and occasional older films given an IMAX transfer.
It is run by the British Film Institute, whose four-screen repertory house is a few minutes' walk along the river, and the two programmes are deliberately unalike.
