Davies & Son

The oldest independent tailor on the Row, trading since 1803 and absorbing several older houses along the way.

Tailoring & shirtsTrading before 1900

Davies has taken in a string of firms that would otherwise have gone - among them the tailors who dressed Napoleon III and Ulysses S. Grant - so its books cover more history than its own founding date suggests.

The house style sits between the structured and the soft, and the firm has stayed independent, which is the reason people who care about the Row keep pointing at it.
