A tall, narrow pub on the river, two rooms downstairs and one above, with the rooms at the back opening onto terraces over the Thames. Frosted glass in the windows, and a painted sign in the bar dated 1949.
Dickens knew this stretch of the river, and the pub is in Our Mutual Friend, barely disguised, as the Six Jolly Fellowship Porters; his portrait hangs on the wall. Behind the bar stands Gandalf's staff, a gift from Ian McKellen, who is one of the leaseholders.
No under-18s. The quiz is on Monday evenings from 20:00.
