Zandra Rhodes's pink and orange museum on Bermondsey Street, given entirely to three or four fashion and textile shows a year.
Zandra Rhodes, the designer with the pink hair, founded the museum in 2003 and had the Mexican architect Ricardo Legorreta turn a Bermondsey warehouse into it, his only building in Europe, in hot pink, burnt orange, yellow and blue; she lives on the top floor. There is no permanent collection. Instead the museum, run since 2006 by Newham College, mounts three or four exhibitions a year on dress, textiles and the people who design them: Biba, the fashion renegades of 1980s London, Warhol's textiles, sixty years of costume-making for film and, into September 2026, the painted prints of Susan Collier and Sarah Campbell. A textile studio and a print workshop run alongside.
