Dick Bracey came out of the Welsh mines, learned neon in London after the war and set up Electro Signs in 1952; the sign he made for the Raymond Revuebar in 1958 lit Soho for half a century and the firm still maintains it. His son Chris took the business into film, bending the neon for Blade Runner, Eyes Wide Shut and four Batman pictures, and kept everything: the old signs, the props, the salvaged shopfronts. God's Own Junkyard is the family's gallery of all of it, a warehouse in Walthamstow with every sign lit at once, a café and bar in the middle and a shop at the end. Chris Bracey died in 2014 and his wife and sons run it. Entry is free.
