The Kerfield Arms holds a star without having stopped being the local - the room is smart, but it is still a bar you could stand in. The cooking is pared back and generous, salt marsh lamb loin with romero peppers and the shoulder slow-cooked into a pastilla beside it, and nothing on the plate is there for decoration.
