Sean Holmes and Charlie Josephine set the first half in an eighteenth-century court of high wigs and higher tempers, which Rosalind and Celia escape into a forest where everything is easier and nothing is recognisable, love included. The forest is not a set: the company paints it live, on stage, at every performance, so the world builds itself in front of the audience.
