Lord Mayor's Show

Eight hundred years of a new Lord Mayor being shown to the city, in a gold coach.

Across the CityHistoryFamily friendlyAnnual eventFree

One of the oldest civic processions in the world, unbroken since 1215: the new Lord Mayor travels from Mansion House to the Royal Courts of Justice in a state coach built in 1757, with a three-mile procession of livery companies, military bands, floats and horses behind. Free, and the City is otherwise empty on a Saturday. Setting off at 11:00, with fireworks over the river in the evening.
