Dave's Wine Bar

A City wine bar that serves beef, lamb and venison off the owner's own farm, with a terrace and a room of glass.

Wine bar

David Howden set this up in the ground floor of One Creechurch Place to prove, in his words, that farm to fork really is possible: the Longhorn beef, the pork, the lamb and the venison come direct from his farm at Cornbury, and the rest of the kitchen works the same way through British regional producers. It arrives as small plates meant for sharing rather than as a menu you order a main from.

The room is double-height glass with marble-topped tables at two heights, and there is a terrace for the weeks London allows one. What it is built for is the working City around it - lunches, client drinks, the hour after a shift - which is why it opens at eight in the morning and shuts at the weekend.
