Autograph's gallery of photography and film in David Adjaye's black-brick building in Shoreditch.
Public gallery
Also in Museums.
Autograph has championed photographers of African and Asian heritage since 1988 - Rotimi Fani-Kayode, Maud Sulter, James Barnor, Zanele Muholi - and since 2007 has shown them in Rivington Place, the first purpose-built public gallery in London for forty years, a sharp building of dark brick and slot windows by David Adjaye. Two galleries over two floors, an archive upstairs, and shows that the national museums have been borrowing from.
