Monika Sprüth and Philomene Magers built the gallery that showed a generation of women who changed what art could be made of - Sherman, Kruger, Trockel, Jenny Holzer - and added Andreas Gursky, Thomas Demand and Sterling Ruby. The London rooms in a Georgian house on Grafton Street opened in 2003, a few doors from Zwirner, and give a taste of a list that is otherwise seen in Berlin and Los Angeles.
