The best baking in London. Bread, cakes, viennoiserie and patisserie worth crossing town for.
Award-winning free-from baking on a Borough Market stall, from a dedicated kitchen.
Dedicated gluten-free
Caroline Aherne set out to make gluten-free cakes that stood up beside the ordinary kind rather than apologising for themselves, and has the awards to show for it. Bakewell tarts, baked passionfruit cheesecake, pistachio, raspberry and rosewater cake, soda bread, cumin crackers, and a range that turns over with the season. About three-quarters are vegan too, some are dairy-free and some use no cane sugar.
It is a stall in the Green Market rather than a shop, and everything is baked off site in a dedicated gluten-free bakery — so nothing it sells has been near wheat.
