Anderson & Sheppard

The soft, unpadded house style that made the Row's reputation for comfort rather than armour.

Tailoring & shirtsTrading before 1900

The drape cut - more cloth across the chest, minimal padding, a high armhole that lets the arm move without the jacket moving with it - was developed here and is what the house is known for. Fred Astaire was a customer, which tells you what it is for.

The shop is round the corner on Old Burlington Street rather than on the Row itself, and there is a separate haberdashery a few doors along selling knitwear and shirts off the peg.
