Crosstown proves its dough like bread, with a sourdough starter and a long slow rise, which leaves the doughnut chewier and less sweet than the American kind before anything goes into it - creme brulee, matcha, raspberry and chocolate. Small-batch ice cream and coffee at the same counter. Open eight to seven every day, which makes it the one for a weekend as well as a weekday.
