The first Filipino ice cream parlour in London, and the reason a lot of people first tasted ube - the purple yam that turns everything the colour of a bruise and tastes of vanilla and coconut at once. It goes in the ice cream, in the bilog buns, and on top of the halo-halo, which is the Filipino sundae: shaved ice, evaporated milk, jellies, red bean, coconut strings, leche flan and a wafer, mixed together, which is what halo-halo means.
