Sit-down restaurant
Pop Newland started in Hackney in 1952 and opened this in 2011, decorated as the decade he learned the trade in: formica, a jukebox, waitresses in headscarves. The fish comes from Billingsgate each morning and the menu keeps the older London things alongside it - jellied eels, whitebait, a seafood platter. It is a themed room, but the frying is not a theme.
