The best food markets in London. Street food, fresh produce and the food halls worth a detour.
Camden's largest street market, and a weekday lunch run of street food stalls.
Street trading began on Leather Lane after the Great Fire of 1666, when traders from Cheapside served Londoners camped out around Hatton Garden; Camden dates the market's continuous run to the 1850s and calls it their largest surviving street market. It is a lunch market now - street food from most of the world, with cut flowers, fruit and veg, fashion and homeware alongside. Traders may set up any time between 07:00 and 19:00, but the council's own guidance is that it is busiest from 10:00 to 16:00, and stalls thin out in bad weather.
