The Gruffalo's illustrator, with his working sketches on the wall.

Books & writersArt & designFamily friendlyFree

At Goethe-Institut London.

Axel Scheffler has been drawing Julia Donaldson's books since The Gruffalo in 1999 and is German, which is how his originals come to be hanging in a language institute's library on Exhibition Road. The show is his sketches and finished illustrations for Wuschel auf der Erde. Free, in the library, and it has been up since the spring.
