The Instituto Cervantes is the Spanish state's institute for its language and for the cultures of the Spanish-speaking world, and the London branch sits in Devereux Court, one of the passages off the Strand behind the Royal Courts of Justice. It teaches Spanish at every level, and Catalan and Basque online, and it is where the DELE, the Spanish government's own certificate, is examined in Britain.
The library is the part a visitor can simply use: books, film and music in Spanish and the other languages of Spain, with a team that runs its own programme of talks and readings alongside the institute's exhibitions, screenings and literary events. Much of the cultural programme is free.
