The Liszt Institute is Hungary's cultural centre in London, and its programme runs to concerts, exhibitions, screenings and writers in conversation - the Booker winner David Szalay among them - along with work on the Hungarians who shaped modern London, Marcel Breuer and László Moholy-Nagy and Ernő Goldfinger among them.
The building is 10 Maiden Lane, which is where Voltaire lodged in 1727 during his English exile. Two centuries of foreign London happen to be stacked in the same doorway.
