The open-air market has run under the south end of Waterloo Bridge since the 1980s, part of the Southbank Centre, with a dozen traders laying out paperbacks, prints, maps and old Penguins on long tables. The bridge keeps the rain off and the river keeps the light, and it is the book market of Four Weddings and a Funeral, where Hugh Grant and Andie MacDowell walk along the tables.
