A section that stands almost to its full medieval height: the Roman base with its tile courses, then thirteenth-century masonry with a row of arrow loops and the remains of a wall walk, then a doorway cut through in a later century. It is reached through the courtyard of the hotel on Cooper's Row, which built round it rather than over it, and it is the best place in the City to see how each age simply added to what the last had left.
