Brent Museum

The borough's story inside Willesden Green Library, free: Wembley's exhibition, its stadium, and the people who came to live here.

Free

Brent's museum has shared the Library at Willesden Green since 2006, with the borough archives beside it, and it tells two stories well. One is Wembley: the British Empire Exhibition of 1924, which drew twenty-seven million people to a new suburb, and the stadium built for it that became the home of English football. The other is the people, the Irish, Caribbean, South Asian and other communities who made north-west London what it is in the twentieth century, told through their own objects and recordings. Entry is free, in a library rebuilt in 2015 with a gallery and a performance space of its own.
