Character Encounters

Actors playing people from the museum's collection, free, every Saturday.

HistoryFamily friendlyFree

At National Maritime Museum.

An actor takes a gallery every Saturday as somebody who was actually there. The one to catch is John Simmonds, a Black sailor who served with Nelson at Trafalgar in 1805: the performance was built with his descendants, on more than forty years of their own family research. Free, drop in, and it works as a way into the galleries whatever your age.
