Climb into the cockpit of a genuine Spitfire Mk XVI in Hangar 3, hear how it was flown and have your photograph taken at the controls. Ten minutes, £30, ages eight and up; you need to be able to climb the steps and lower yourself into a very small space, in trousers and proper shoes. The museum also runs £12 guided tours on the Battle of Britain, Bomber Command, the Cold War and First World War flying machines, and a £32 Battle of Britain flight simulator.
