The same spectacle as Richmond, with a fraction of the people watching it.
Parks & natureFree
At Bushy Park.
Bushy has around three hundred deer to Richmond's six hundred and far fewer visitors, so the rut is easier to watch and easier to be too close to. Same rules: fifty metres minimum, dogs on leads and away from the herds, no shouting, back off slowly if approached, and let a dog off the lead if a stag charges while you are holding it. Mid-September to early November, best at first light.
