Swimming
Built in 1938 and relined in steel, which is what gives the water its particular silver colour on a bright day. It is sixty metres long, unheated and never closes — single figures in February, and a queue of people who swim through it anyway. A sauna runs on the poolside through the winter, and it turns a cold swim into a good morning.
