A long, narrow room off Trafalgar Square hung to the ceiling with portraits, and almost nowhere to sit.

The Harp is one room, about three times as long as it is wide, on a lane behind the Coliseum. The walls are covered from the dado to the ceiling with portraits in heavy frames, mostly of people nobody can identify, and the effect is of drinking inside somebody's overstuffed Victorian sitting room. There is a small upstairs and standing room by the door, and on a Friday the drinkers are on the pavement whatever the weather.
It has been a cask pub of the first rank for years - it was CAMRA's National Pub of the Year in 2010, the first London pub to take it - and the ciders are taken as seriously as the beer. The beer itself is in this guide under Beer; what is here is the room.
