J Sheekey opened in 1896 and has been feeding people before and after the curtain ever since, with the walls given over to photographs of the actors who have eaten here. It is a seafood restaurant first - shellfish platters at one end, the fish pie it is known for at the other - in low light, wood panelling and banquettes.
