Nash's street of 1825 was rebuilt in the 1920s as a single composition, and the shops behind it are flagships: Hamleys, Apple, Burberry, and the fashion and sports chains at their largest. Liberty is round the corner on Great Marlborough Street, and the Christmas lights along its length are London's oldest.
