Guided Tours

Guided tours worth booking: walks led by people who know the streets, and the bus, river and cycling tours that earn their fare. Open one and the map shows the ground it covers, from where it meets.

Thames Rockets

A rigid inflatable at speed from the London Eye Pier, which is a different river from the one the cruise boats show you.

River

Also in What’s On.

Every other boat on this stretch is a commentary cruise at walking pace. This is a RIB doing the tourist run down to the Thames Barrier or Canary Wharf and then opening the throttle in the wide water below Wapping, where the speed limit lifts.

What you get for the money is not information. It is the river as a working waterway taken at the speed the police and the lifeboats take it, and the fact that London looks entirely different from a boat sitting a foot above the surface than from one with a top deck. Expect to be wet.

Hourly, all year, and the crew talk through the trip.

Where
London Eye Pier, Riverside Building, County Hall
Nearest station
Westminster · 5 min walk

Hourly, all year; adult from £59.95, child from £49.95
