JazzWorth it for the building
It is part of the basement of the old Regent Palace Hotel, which Brasserie Zedel now occupies, and the room has kept its 1920s fittings - etched glass, marquetry, curved banquettes - to a degree that is rare anywhere in London. It seats about seventy.
The programme is singers rather than bands: the American songbook, cabaret, jazz vocalists and the occasional spoken-word evening. It is the only room in the city where the decor and the repertoire are from the same decade.
