An Irish dance hall that became a punk venue and has stayed in the same family throughout.

It began in the 1930s as a ballroom for Camden's Irish community, run by Bill Fuller, who owned dance halls on both sides of the Atlantic. It was renamed the Electric Ballroom in the summer of 1978, and punk moved in without the ownership changing: Fuller held it until his death in 2008, aged ninety-one, and the family has it still.
It is a plain black room with a good floor and a market underneath it at weekends, and it has resisted several attempts to knock it down for the Tube station.
