Beerbohm Tree's house went up in 1897 and this has been in it for forty years of that. The chandelier still comes down over the stalls, the set is Maria Bjornson's, and the whole production was made for this building rather than adapted into it - which is why the effects land from seats that would be compromised anywhere else.
