David Onac: Atlantic Requiem

A new requiem for the Africans trafficked across the Atlantic, built partly from insurance records.

Classical

At LSO St Luke's.

Anthony Parnther conducts the LSO and the BBC Singers with Brittany Renee, J'Nai Bridges and Orson Van Gay II. David Onac wrote it out of Johns Hopkins research into Lloyd's of London's part in insuring slave ships, and it sets the Latin requiem against spirituals, jazz and gospel. An hour, twice: Sunday 11 October at 16:00 and 17:45, £35.
