Dido's Lament in a round twelfth-century church built by the Knights Templar.
Opera
At Temple Church.
Christian Curnyn conducts the Early Opera Company in Purcell's only true opera - written for a girls' school in Chelsea around 1689, an hour long, and ending on a lament built over a ground bass that descends and descends and will not resolve. The room is the Templars' round church of 1185, with the crusader effigies on the floor. 19:30.
