The choir here is not a parish choir; it is a professional foundation singing to cathedral standard in a twelfth-century round nave, and hearing it during a service costs nothing. Choral matins and evensong run through the legal terms.
The organ is the reason musicians make the trip. The 1927 instrument was destroyed by bombing, and the replacement - the Harrison & Harrison built for Lord Glentanar's Scottish house in 1927 and brought here in 1954 - is one of the finest of its date in the country. Concerts and organ recitals run alongside the services.
