A ship needs four people to fly and takes fourteen, and every one of them has a station to work. The operations team flies the ship and runs the beams and the missiles; the science team keeps the radar, the navigation and the comms; the engineers manage power, damage control and the drones; and a shuttle crew of three flies a smaller craft out of the hangar. Actors play the rest of the crew and the voices at the other end, and the mission turns on the decisions made at those consoles, so two crews get different evenings out of the same script. Sixteen and over; under-16s fly a private Cadet Mission, from eleven. Tickets start at £49. The bar is called The Mess and is open either side of a flight.
