Stand in both hemispheres, and look over London, without paying to go in.

The Royal Parks put it plainly: in the park you can hop from one side of the world to the other, and then buy a ticket if you want to see inside the Observatory itself. The line runs through Greenwich Park, and the walk up to it ends at the most-photographed view in south London - down over the Old Royal Naval College and the river to Canary Wharf beyond. One Tree Hill, further east, has much the same view and a fraction of the people. Pedestrian gates open 06:00 to 20:00. The Observatory's courtyard, its telescopes and the Meridian's brass strip are ticketed and listed separately under Museums.
