How We Lost America

The American Revolution told from the losing side, in the house of its best satirist.

HistoryFree

At Hogarth's House.

Enslaved men who fought for their own freedom, women who took up the revolutionary cause, and the arsonist who tried to blow up Portsmouth dockyard — the exhibition works through the satire, newspapers and letters that carried the argument in Britain while the colonies were being lost. It tours on to other venues until spring 2027. Made by Aurora Metro Arts & Media with the National Lottery Heritage Fund. Free, no booking.
