Elisabeth Frink's shepherd and his flock in Paternoster Square, under the dome of St Paul's.
Outdoor sculptureFree
Commissioned in 1975 for the old Paternoster Square and kept when the square was rebuilt in 2003, the bronze shepherd walks with five sheep, a memory of the livestock market that Newgate was and of the Paternoster Row that was bombed away in 1940. Frink is the sculptor of animals and their people, and this is her most public group, with the cathedral behind it.
