Thaddaeus Ropac

The Austrian dealer's London house: Georg Baselitz, Anselm Kiefer and Robert Rauschenberg's estate in an eighteenth-century mansion.

Commercial galleryFree

Ely House was built in 1772 for the Bishop of Ely, and Ropac restored its Georgian rooms in 2017 rather than gutting them, so Baselitz's giants and Kiefer's lead books hang under plaster ceilings and around a great staircase. Five floors of galleries with a garden room behind; the programme runs from Joseph Beuys and Rauschenberg to Alvaro Barrington and Oliver Beer.
