A sixty-foot bronze contraption of 1987, part sailing ship, part sea beast, part clock, that stands in the pool of Hay's Galleria and turns its paddles and squirts water when the mechanism is running; Kemp built it from what look like scrap-yard parts to mark the wharf's history as the Larder of London, where tea clippers unloaded. Children love it and so, quietly, do the adults.
