Also in Museums.

Astor's 1895 office and pied-a-terre by the Embankment is a neo-Gothic jewel box - carved staircase, mahogany panelling, stained glass, a frieze of literary heroes - and the Bulldog Trust opens it each winter for a free exhibition that brings a museum from outside London to the capital, from Sussex modernism to Wolverhampton's collection. In the months between, the house is closed except for tours and open days.
