For six days it is a quiet East End street of small shopfronts under yellow-brick terraces built in the 1860s, with independent galleries, a bakery and a pub. On Sunday it becomes the flower market: barrows down the middle, wholesale roses and bay trees and orchids, and traders shouting prices that fall as the morning goes on. The shops in the side alleys open with it.
