Exmouth Market

A pedestrian street of restaurants under festoon lights, with a street food market at lunchtime.

Market streets

Exmouth Market after dark, the lights on and the tables out.

Named for a market that has run since the nineteenth century and still sets up on weekdays, though the reason to come now is the row of restaurants and bars either side: Moro at one end, a Spanish and North African kitchen that has been there since 1997, and cafés, a jeweller and a bar-football pub along from it. The street was pedestrianised, the lights were strung across, and the tables never went back in.
